Join early childhood educator and trainee art therapist Elise Fenn for a magical morning with your pre-schooler, crafting bush toys made from natural found materials.
Whether it be at the beach, in the park, or even in your own backyard, nature provides an abundant supply of sensory materials to spark so much imaginative play! You'll be completely inspired to head outdoors on a collecting excursion after this fun and playful workshop, where you'll be using your hands, sharing ideas and knowledge to create 1-2 simple bush toys to take home to the kids.
What you will learn:
- The importance of pretend play in children’s development and discuss simple age appropriate strategies to extend children’s play
- Learn about the growing field of ‘nature pedagogy’
- Leave with inspiration to explore, collect and make from nature with children

Meet Elise Fenn
Elise Fenn is a project facilitator, early childhood educator, and trainee art therapist. Elise has spent many years working ‘out bush’ in education, community arts and with mum’s and bub’s groups. Elise believes that contemplation in nature and pretend play spark the kind of wonder required to grow resourceful, empathic and creative children.
